Nacido en Monterrey, México, 1973. Estudió la carrera de arquitectura en el Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey, Campus Monterrey. Su obra se ha expuesto de manera colectiva e individual en galerías, museos y ferias internacionales en Bruselas, Hong Kong, Seúl, Singapur, México, Paris, Malcha, Bogotá y Nueva York.

Su obra forma parte de colecciones públicas y privadas dentro y fuera del país. Su trabajo toma como punto de partida el estudio e investigación del contexto urbano centrado principalmente en la dependencia tecnológica y la sistematización global. Como resultado se tiene una deconstrucción abstracta del entorno teniendo a la línea como elemento principal. La meticulosa experimentación cromática está siempre presente en la obra teniendo repeticiones que crean variaciones geométricas y sintéticas.


Óscar Soto Lozano was born in Monterrey México in 1973 and graduated from Architecture from the Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education. His work begins with the study and research of global context and the result is an abstract deconstruction of landscapes, primary focused on technology and the constant need of cities systematization.

His work have been presented on Exhibitions, Biennales and International Art Fairs in Dubai, Singapore, Seoul, Hong Kong, Paris, Malcha, New York, Mexico City, Bogota and Monterrey. In 2006 he won the FONCA Creators Grant. In this project he developed a series of photographs, which was the result of research of the city language and the way it’s lights communicate with us. In 2007 is selected to present his work in Bogota at the Siart International Art Biennale. In 2012 his work is selected for the second time to participate on the 10th anniversary of FEMSA Monterrey Biennale, which takes place on the Contemporary Art Museum of Monterrey (MARCO). In 2014 presents part of his work in Dubai on the exhibit “Visions of Abstraction” at Opera Gallery. He recently presented his new work on Drexel Galería in Monterrey, México. His work is part of public and private collections.
